Wooden figures, sampak, Kay Bojesen
Big icons. Small sizes. Under the heading Liliput, you can now create original stories in wood with three of Kay Bojesen's famous wooden figures in an even smaller mini size, where the smiling lines in the small miniature versions cannot help but bring out the biggest smiles in everyone who loves classic Danish design.
Meet the Bear at 9.5 cm, the Elephant at 7.5 cm and the Hippopotamus at just 6 cm in height. Like its larger siblings, the Liliput Bear stands ready with its characteristic open arms and friendly expression. And even though it is small, the Liliput Bear can still turn its head and move its arms, so you can stand, sit or lay it down, exactly as you wish. The Elephant with its long trunk and cute ears also has the same inviting round shape in the Liliput version as the original from the early 50s, when Kay Bojesen's elephant figurine was born at the Danish Arts and Crafts Association's Spring Exhibition. The Hippopotamus was born in 1955 as a cheerful feature to keep track of the pencil on the desk, and it will still create smiles and style like Liliput in the office or in the children's room.
All Liliput animals are made of FSC®-certified oak, which guarantees that the trees used in production are planted, grown and felled responsibly. The Liliput Bear also has details in FSC®-certified maple, which helps to emphasize the Bear's soft design language. The individual parts of the animals are turned, sanded, sanded and polished, so that they both look beautiful and feel nice to the touch.
Even though the animals have become smaller, the great craftsmanship behind each Liliput figure is the same as always, and the high quality of materials, design and finish shines through in the three little friends, who in this unique package with all the Liliput figures are the perfect gift idea for anyone who appreciates original Danish design that Kay Bojesen is known for - regardless of whether it's for a big anniversary or a small child's birthday.
Big, small, mini or Lilliput, Kay Bojesen's family of wooden animals has a very special appeal for both children and adults. A wooden figure is not a gift that is forgotten, but becomes a dear friend that moves with you throughout your life - from the children's room to your own home in adulthood. Something that design icons of a certain caliber can do without losing relevance.
