Has been developed to prevent shoulder sores on sows. Shoulder ulcers are a problem with many causes, but primarily develop when the sow lies on a hard surface.
The shoulder cover is manufactured so that pressure relief is provided to the area around the shoulder bone. This reduces the risk of a shoulder wound occurring and requiring treatment or, ultimately, of the sow having to be euthanized with loss as a result.
PORCIVET Shoulder cover from KRUUSE is made of a pressure-relieving, molded material that is stuck directly to the sow with a special adhesive.
Best fitting is done when the animal stands up.
The shoulder area should be reasonably clean and dry, as otherwise the adhesive will have difficulty ensuring optimal adhesion.
ATTENTION Brushes on the sow must NOT be removed, as this impairs the adhesion of the adhesive.
